Go West!

Leah is still on a high from last week's RAW:Unearthed.  The crowd at GLounge was very impressed with Leah's offerings.

There was a cluster of folks browsing the Vintage Vinyl line all night, many lingering over certain displays before settling on a purchase.

The RAW crowd was so into Leah, she's been invited to do a show in another city of her choice!  Leah says she's "California Dreaming"!  That definitely calls for a YouTube hit:

Leah did venture slightly "west" last weekend, to the Go West Craft Fest in West Philly.  Leah says:

"It was a great show!!!!! I got to meet so many West Philly Leah Creation fans and return customers. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures, I was seriously too busy. My jewelry was a hit!

Leah is going further west this weekend, for Handmade ArcadePittsburgh’s largest indie craft fair.  Drop in on Leah at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center this Saturday, April 16!

Fab Friday

The fab started early this week with last night's Raw: Unearthed cocktail-and-art party at GLounge.  How much fun was that?

Many new Leah Creation fans were met last night!  Leah us still buzzing from the excitement.

We'll have more next week, but enjoy the snaps we took of Leah's displays.  So many great new pieces!

The space really was "super swanky", and filled with art, fashion, photography, music -- everywhere you looked there seemed to be someone displaying their crafts and talents.

Special thanks to RAW:natural born artists for giving our awesome Philly talent a venue to promote their work!

In the spirit of Unearthed, we're featuring Foreign Exchange for today's music feature.

They performed last night and Leah loves these guys!  Made up of members Justin Rockstar and Gabrielle, their sound mixes pop, rock, R&B, hip hop.

They take pride in bringing their recorded music to life on stage with the same energy and vocal prowess:

"We just want to bring back the lost art of the live performance. We are here to prove that good music can be made in any genre.

Amen to that!  Click here for their Raw profile and a sample of their music.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

More Unearthed

April 7th's RAW:Unearthed is fast approaching...

G Lounge

Leah got a sneak peak at G Lounge when she chatted on camera with host Erin Como.

Erin Como
"The place is posh" says Leah of the bank-turned-nightclub.  "Super swanky".

The interview took place in the Mogul Room (how fitting!), an old vault behind three foot thick doors, described as "the perfect place for business to transpire, relaxation to pervade, and experiences to be shared".

The Mogul Room
Leah talked about her beginnings, inspirations, and how she began the Vintage Vinyl line.  We also hear there are some choice sound bites from Leah, so we hope to catch this at the event!

Leah's profile is also up at RAW:Natural Born Artists, click here to view it.  And don't forget to buy your tickets for April 7th.

Order through this link, and make sure you've selected Leah Creation from the "Support your Artist" menu on the right side.  Everyone who supports Leah when they buy online will get a free gift when they see Leah at Unearthed!

Ok, Fabtime:
Motown necklace and earring set
We promised Leah a Motown post this week.  Isn't it obvious how much she loves that Motor City Sound?  Who doesn't?  Berry Gordy helped bring "black music" to the mainstream, but more importantly, he brought black artists to the mainstream, into everyone's living room (and onto their turntables, of course) at the height of the Civil Rights struggle.  The social and cultural impact of that can't be measured.

The enormous talent that Motown unleashed can't be measured, either.  These acts dominated Pop and R&B for decades, and their influence still lives on today.  We can't even list them all, and forgive us if we leave someone you love out, but sit back, crank up your speakers/headphones, and play these on full screen.  We're starting with two from everyone's favorite girl group, the embodiment of all that is FAB, the Supremes!

She's a Very Kinky Girl...

Leah has a video request for us: Rick James’s Super Freak!
Leah says:
“It's an album I listened to on my orange and beige Fisher Price record player...I was a funny little kid!”
Too funny!  We’re planning some Motown for Fab Friday tomorrow and thought about including this...Street Songs, the LP it comes from, was released by Motown and featured backup vocals from the Temptations (and a cameo in the video), but Super Freak really does deserve a post all it’s own.

If you’re looking to complete a Pimp-tastic update of Rick’s look, or even a smooth and suave Temptations redux, you can’t go wrong with any of these Leah Creation accessories.

Motown Pendant
Tie Clips
Eve Belt Buckle
And don’t forget RAW: Unearthed at G Lounge is just two weeks away!

This “cocktail attire” event features artists, designers and creatives of all sorts displaying their works through film, fashion, the visual arts and much more!

Leah Creation fans can order tickets at this link, and receive a special gift from Leah when they visit her at G Lounge!
